-
- • Create targeted rosters like “Power Hitters” or “LHP Relievers.”
- • Access your custom groups across all 643 tools
- • Compare candidates using the same metrics you use for opponent (or self) scouting
- • Update rosters as you narrow down targets
Start your portal recruiting here, then leverage all of 643’s tools. More below on that 👇
2. Start Finding Portal Players in Portal HQ
How to use Portal HQ is outlined for you in the section above. But if you need a refresher on finding transfer portal recruits in Portal HQ, check out the video below!
3. Easy-Access Stats & Data in Interactive Stats
The Interactive Stats tile puts every statistical angle of transfer portal candidates at your fingertips, allowing for both broad analysis and pinpoint evaluation of specific skills. With data going back multiple seasons, you’ll have the complete story on every recruit:

From basic stat tables to advanced performance visualization, these integrated tools provide the foundation for smart transfer portal decisions. Below are a few suggested use cases for the Interactive Stats tools when starting your evaluation of transfer portal recruits! 👇
Stats+
Stats+ is the first place to look for traditional and advanced statistics tables on your custom transfer rosters. You can use the interactive stat groups and split filters to see who has the edge in various statistical categories and situations. Then, when you have the stat table you are looking for, you can export it to CSV or PDF to use outside the platform (if needed).
4. Video Analysis with 643 Synergy
The 643 Synergy integration truly changes transfer portal evaluation by connecting every statistical data point to actual game video, giving you both quantitative measures and qualitative context in one seamless experience.
-
- • Watch any play from a prospect’s career with just one click on any stat or visualization
- • Apply powerful filters to focus on performance against specific competition or situations
- • Create and share prospect playlists with your staff for consistent evaluation
- • Analyze mechanics, approach, and intangibles that numbers alone can’t capture
With these video-enabled tools, you’ll make transfer decisions with complete confidence, seeing exactly how prospects perform in the situations that matter most to your program. Below are a few suggested tools/use cases for using 643 Synergy while evaluating Transfer Portal recruits. 👇
Pitch Highlighter
The Pitch Highlighter tool in 643 Synergy delivers a complete picture of a transfer candidate’s performance with interactive visuals tied directly to video clips. See exactly how prospects perform against different pitch types:

Defensive Runs Saved
The Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) leaderboards in 643 Synergy allow coaches to use our proprietary metrics to find [undervalued] defensive talent in the transfer portal. Search any player by name to discover their true defensive impact:
-
- • See quantified defensive value across multiple skill categories
- • Identify defensive specialists whose gloves might compensate for offensive limitations
- • Discover dual-threat players whose defensive prowess complements their offensive production.
- • Compare catchers’ framing runs, stolen base prevention, and overall defensive impact
This objective defensive metric helps you find transfer gems whose defensive contributions might be overlooked by programs focused solely on offensive statistics.
Defense Evaluation Tool
After searching through the DRS leaderboard, you can head over to the Defense tool in 643 Synergy to watch all associated defensive plays from any player on your custom roster.
Set filters to quickly see ‘rangey’ plays a SS made up the middle…or errors on routine groundballs.
5. Advanced Metrics & Tools With Trackman SYNC
Trackman SYNC takes your transfer portal evaluation to professional-level depth, revealing player qualities that traditional stats and video alone can’t capture. Where other programs might miss hidden talent, with Trackman SYNC, you’ll be able to identify recruits with undervalued potential:
-
- • Leverage objective ball-tracking data
- • Identify players whose underlying metrics may suggest they’ll outperform their current stats
- • Evaluate specific position groups with specialized tools
The Trackman SYNC tile provides specialized evaluation tools for every position. Below are a few suggested use cases (by position) for evaluating Transfer Portal recruits with Trackman SYNC. 👇

- • Compare contact quality metrics to division averages
- • Identify chase tendencies to predict how they’ll adapt to your conference
The color-coded percentile rankings quickly show how a hitter stacks up—red for strengths, blue for weaknesses.
Pitcher Arsenal
The Pitch Arsenal tool reveals the true quality of a transfer pitcher’s repertoire beyond basic velocity and statistics:
-
- • Visualize movement profiles and release points to understand pitch deception
- • Compare pitch characteristics to D1 averages with percentile rankings
- – Watch the associated Synergy video for the data points
- • Analyze pitch tunneling to project development potential

Once designed, apply these templates to any player in seconds—perfect for standardizing your recruiting process and efficiently presenting findings to your coaching staff. No more cobbling together screenshots and stats from multiple sources!
Multi-Player, Single-Page Reports
The multi-player custom reports feature allows you to place up to six candidates on a single page for direct comparison. This powerful tool streamlines your decision-making process:
-
- • Compare key metrics across multiple transfer targets in the same position group
- • Place potential transfers alongside current roster players to identify upgrades
- • Present comparison visuals, including stat tables, heat maps, and spray charts
- • Create standardized evaluation pages by position for staff meetings and discussions
This at-a-glance comparison format helps your staff quickly identify the best fits among similar candidates.
Dashboards

- • Box-select specific zones in heat maps or spray charts to analyze targeted performance areas
- • Compare multiple candidates on a single interactive page for efficient staff evaluation
This powerful visualization tool seamlessly connects numbers to video, letting your staff instantly validate statistical insights with real game footage without leaving your custom report. It’s perfect for those quick transfer recruiting meetings!
Evaluating A Player's NIL Value With Data
Everyone remembers this quote from the movie Moneyball: “Your goal shouldn’t be to buy players, your goal should be to buy wins. And in order to buy wins, you need to buy runs.”
Of course, they were talking about the MLB’s Oakland A’s, but college baseball today isn’t much different. With the transfer portal and NIL, the offseason often feels like free agency, with the top collegiate players going to the highest “bidders.”
6-4-3 Charts has a tool that can help guide the path to “buying” more runs and wins, while optimizing your NIL spend. Our Wins Above Replacement (WAR) Leaderboard.

643 AWRE
AWRE + 6-4-3 Charts: Do More With Your Video
AWRE is an emerging baseball and softball multi-angle video platform that transforms player development, streaming, and instant replay.
And now, with the 643 AWRE integration, users can visualize AWRE data and interact with AWRE video in the 6-4-3 Charts interface. AWRE video is connected through the tools in the 643 AWRE tile (see below), and with those tools, video and data come to life to form actionable insights for coaches and players.
We can also automatically connect AWRE clips with all your uploaded Trackman SYNC data (available with a Trackman integration). With this option, you can interact with AWRE and Trackman data (in tandem, side by side, etc.) like never before.
All AWRE visualization tools are available as part of our AWRE Integration, available to add on with the PLUS package.

The 643 AWRE Tile
The 643 AWRE tile is now available in the 6-4-3 Charts interface for PLUS users with the AWRE Integration. The 643 AWRE tile allows you to access tools to watch all your videos efficiently and visualize associated data without leaving the 6-4-3 platform. (And much more!)
Playlist Manager
The 643 AWRE Playlist Manager is where you can organize your videos into different categories. You can quickly populate your playlists while watching videos using the different 643 AWRE tools (or in Trackman SYNC). Once you have your playlists, you can sync them to your team’s Player Portal so all your athletes can access the playlists of AWRE videos they need to watch!
Pitch Highlighter
The Pitch Highlighter module is a great place to start when first interacting within the 643 AWRE tile. The two main interactive graphics show: the strike zone (left) and balls in play on the spray chart (right). All data points on the visuals can be box-selected or individually clicked to watch the corresponding AWRE video from all available angles.
Both of these visualizations can be filtered and interacted with to better understand what pitches are working for your pitcher or are getting barrelled by hitters. And if you want to dive even deeper, you can filter the matchup data by conference or specific opponents.
Don’t forget about the cold, hard stats! The Pitch Highlighter tables are a great place to evaluate a player’s performance and see how they compare to their peers. The following tables are each broken down by pitch type:
- Performance Metrics Table: Shows basic counting and average statistics, including BA, SLG, wOBA, and BAPIP.
- Batted Ball Profile Table: Breaks down the data on balls in play by pitch type. It shows where the batter is hitting the ball on the field (Pull, Middle, Oppo) and what kind of contact they are making (FB, LD, PU).
- Plate Discipline Table: Details how where pitches are located and how disciplined hitters are against different pitch types. It’s particularly interesting to look at the different Whiff and Put-Away Percentages to see if the pitcher gets their outs via the heat or the breaking ball!
Three additional features to point out with these tables:
- You can export them to PDF or CSV or copy them to your clipboard.
- You can click on any cell and watch the corresponding AWRE video. (See video above)
- You can easily see player strengths and weaknesses by referencing the coloring for stats. The red indicates that the player is really good in that stat category. The darkest shades of red represent the highest percentiles. The blue indicates that the player is poorer than average in that stat category. The darkest shades of blue represent the lowest percentiles. Percentiles are calculated using league averages (D1 Baseball & D1 Softball).
Zone Illustrations
The Zone Illustration tool is powerful for evaluating strengths and weaknesses around the zone. A quick scroll through the zones will give you a clear picture of where in the zone a hitter tends to swing, make contact, miss, get on base, and make elevated contact. And conversely, where a pitcher locates pitches, misses bats, targets in counts, and misses the zone.
With the AWRE tile, you are just a click away from watching all the videos associated with a particular zone illustration or a zone within a zone!
Overall, Zone Illustrator is useful for helping you develop a quick plan for your pitchers and hitters to attack the zone.
Zone Illustration Layout Options
All Sprays
All Sprays is a great tool for uncovering tendencies in your hitters. And because you are in the 643 AWRE tile, all the spray charts have corresponding, multi-angled AWRE videos attached.
Want to see all of a batter’s two-strike hits to left field from the behind-home view? Just quickly add a few filters and you can do that in All Sprays! All the spray charts (like the ones you see below) will dynamically adjust for whatever filters you put in place.
Game Replay
Do you want to keep it simple and just watch a full game? Or maybe you want to see a certain batter vs a certain pitcher? You can do all that (and more) in the Game Replay module! This is a great place to check out the day after a game from a full review of the action.
Pitch Sequencing
What type of pitch is your pitcher throwing in a 0-1 count against right-handed hitters?
The Pitch Sequencing tool allows you to answer this type of question by taking a deep dive into the tendencies of any pitcher by count, result, and pitch type. Then, with the LHH vs RHH filtering option, you can create a game plan for your pitcher so they are not too predictable on the mound.
Associated AWRE video coming soon to the Pitch Sequencing tool!
The Pitch Sequencing tool comes with four associated, exportable tables:
- At/Thru Count Averages: Breaks down the number of PA, BA, OBP, SLG, BABIP, and wOBA for each count (At and Thru).
- Pitch Selection: Shows the percentage of time each pitch type (Fastball, Breaking, Offspeed) is thrown in different scenarios (Even, After Strike, First Pitch, etc.)
- Sequencing Performance (on 2nd Pitch): Breaks down the pitcher’s use of pitch combinations (Fastball/Fastball, Slider/Fastball, etc.) and the effectiveness of the sequence.
- Pitch Type by Count Matrix: Shows how often each specific pitch type is used in each specific count.
Heatmaps
The Heatmap tool is indispensable for self-scouting your pitchers and hitters. With 6-4-3 Charts, you can set up a couple of filter options, and you’ll quickly identify where your pitchers can execute their pitches and where your hitters do damage.
Pair the insights you gained from the Heatmaps with those from the Zone Illustration module, and you’ll have an extremely detailed zone report on any pitcher (or hitter)!
Plus, as you could have guessed, you can view all mapped AWRE videos from the Heatmap. Just box-select the area of the zone you want to view and watch all the associated AWRE videos!
NEW FALL 2024 – Heatmap Coloring Options
COMING VERY SOON!
Filters
Filters are available in all sections of the 643 AWRE tab. The filters are designed to help you narrow down the data so you can see exactly what you want to see. Basically, if there’s a scenario in a game, you can filter down the data to it.
Plus, you can save your filters for easy access the next time around!
The Game Information filters allow you to first narrow down the date range you’d like to report on. Then, you can further filter the data by the general situations of the game, including base state, inning, number of outs, and handedness of the pitcher or batter.
The Outcome and Pitch Information filters are where you can start getting extremely granular with your filtering. Filter by the outcome, zone, BIP type, pitch type, and count to see how your selected player performs in specific situations.
With the Matchup Information filter, you can limit your results to a certain opponent or player. This is perfect for quick game or series prep!

Pitch Highlighter
The Pitch Highlighter tab is a great place to start when first interacting within the 6-4-3 Synergy tile. The two main interactive graphics show pitches (left) and balls in play (right). All of the data points on the graphs can be selected or grouped to watch the corresponding Synergy video.
Both of these displays can be filtered and interacted with to get a better understanding of what pitches are working for a pitcher. And, if you want to dive even deeper, you can filter the matchup data by conference or specific opponents.
Plus, you can watch all the videos associated with selected multiple or individual data points.
The Pitch Highlighter tables are a great place to scout a player’s performance and see how they compare to their peers.

Zone Illustrations

The Zone Illustrations tab is a powerful tool for evaluating a hitter’s strengths and weaknesses around the zone. A quick scroll through the zones and you’ll get a clear picture of where in the zone a hitter tends to swing, make contact, or whiff. And, in the Synergy tile, you are just a click away from watching all the videos associated within each zone.
Zone Illustration Layout Options
All Sprays
The All Sprays tab is a great tool to use if you are in charge of defensive positioning for your team or trying to analyze tendencies in your own hitters. And within the 6-4-3 Synergy tile, all the spray charts have corresponding Synergy videos attached to them.
Check out the screenshots below to see all the sprays you have access to in this tab.
Game Replay
The Game Replay tab allows users to select specific hitters or pitchers to view associated plate appearances from a single game. Users can also watch back all plate appearances from the game or view the automated highlight reel.
Heatmaps
Our Heatmaps tool is an indispensable tool for scouting opponents’ pitchers & hitters (and your pitchers & hitters). With a couple of filter options in place, you’ll be able to quickly identify where a pitcher can execute their pitches and where hitters do damage on them. The three heatmaps at the top of the page allow you to apply saved filters to compare while the pre-canned heatmaps at the bottom give you a quick glance at player tendencies.
Plus, you can view all mapped Synergy videos from the Heatmap.
Weighted Heatmaps
Our Weighted Heatmaps option inside of the Heatmaps tool is extremely unique to the 6-4-3 Charts platform…because we created it! Weighted Heatmaps help tell a more complete story. Rather than telling us how often something occurs, weighted heatmaps quantify the impact of what happened on pitches thrown in those areas.
The user can clearly see where good outcomes and bad outcomes occur. Rather than being colored based on pitch frequency, the 643 Weighted Heatmaps are colored based on outcome. Increases in run expectancy and the most damage happen in the darkest red, while minimal damage occurs where the heatmap shows the darkest blue.
- Red indicates favorable outcomes for the hitter (hits/damage, balls, walks, etc.)
- Blue indicates unfavorable outcomes for the hitter (outs, strikes, strikeouts, etc.)
If you want to learn more about Weighted Heatmaps, make sure to check out our introductory blog post on them!
NEW FALL 2024 – Heatmap Coloring Options
Matchup Heatmaps
Matchups Heatmaps make it easy to compare how a certain hitter and pitcher matchup…and where the damage is usually done by either party.
- Red indicates favorable outcomes for the hitter (hits/damage, balls, walks, etc.)
- Blue indicates favorable outcomes for the pitcher (outs, strikes, strikeouts, etc.)
Pitch Sequencing
What type of pitch is the opposing pitcher going to throw in a 0-1 count against your right-handed hitters?
The Pitch Sequencing tab allows you to answer these questions by taking a deep dive into the tendencies of any pitcher by count, result, and pitch type. Then, with the LHH vs RHH filtering option, you can create a game plan for all the hitters in your lineup, no matter what pitcher you face that day.
Catcher Framing
Take your catcher evaluations to a new level with the Catcher Framing module in the Synergy tab. Quickly visualize where your team’s (or opponent’s) catchers are stealing strikes AND where they are losing close strike/ball calls around the zone.
And now, with our new Framing+ metric*, you can gain insight into where and when catchers are getting calls while taking the count into consideration.
*Framing+ measures the relationship between a catcher’s Framing Runs and the League Average Framing Runs for that zone given the number of pitches caught. The League Average is normalized to 100, so a Framing+ of 108 means the catcher’s framing has prevented 8% more runs than the league average catcher. Strike rate is context-neutral, but Framing+ takes the count into account. A 3-2 pitch is of higher leverage than an 0-0, or 3-0 pitch, so the result of the 3-2 pitch will have a greater impact on the catcher’s Runs Saved and thus, Framing+.
Umpire Reports
The Umpire Reports tool gives coaches a look at an umpire’s strike zone and, more specifically, how he/she calls pitches in the “shadow zones.” The tabulations for each shadow zone include: number of pitches, strike rate, strike-called accuracy, ball-called accuracy, and weighted accuracy.
Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) and WAR
Currently only available for Division I Baseball/Softball, the Wins Above Replacement (WAR) and Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) Leaderboards can only be found in 6-4-3 Charts. Both leaderboards are invaluable in quantifying a player’s impact on the game and season.
Learn more about how we calculate collegiate Wins Above Replacement and Defensive Runs Saved
Short Game
It’s the little things that win games, and now, with the new Short Game tool in the 643 Synergy tile, you can prepare for the “little things” better than ever!
Easily access detailed tables and associated Synergy video for PICKOFFS, STOLEN BASES, BUNTS, and SLAPS. Filter and sort tables by player groupings and metric groupings to quickly gain insights and watch video on your opponent’s short game tendencies!
Defense
The new Defense tool in the 643 + Synergy tile provides unparalleled insights into player and team defensive performance. Coaches can filter and analyze defensive plays based on various parameters such as batter handedness, base state, or specific play types like ground balls or errors.
Video clips corresponding to these filters can be reviewed, looped, or shared via playlists in the player portal. With intuitive features like zone and box selection, plus presets for situational analysis, this feature elevates player development, scouting, and recruitment efforts by offering a detailed and customizable view of defensive outcomes.
643 + SYNERGY DEFENSIVE FILTERS
- Fielder Position: The position on the field the player is playing (e.g., Shortstop, Right Fielder, Catcher, etc.)
- AB Outcome: The outcome of the overall at bat. (e.g., Single, Groundout, Walk, etc.)
- BIP Outcome: The outcome of the ball in play (e.g., Groundball, Popup, Flare, etc.)
- Swing Type: The type of swing the hitter takes (e.g., Full, Slap, Check, etc.)
- Pitch Type
- Count
- Batted Ball Bearing: The angle of the batted ball. It takes the x,y landing location and draws a straight line from the home plate. The angle created is the bearing. So 0° would be directly to centerfield. (Note: This is not the launch angle.)
A Quick 643 + Synergy Demo
Leaderboards
643 Synergy National Leaderboards are derived from all available Synergy data. They help you get a quick, in-depth look at who is good (and bad) in very specific statistical categories.
The 643 Synergy Leaderboard is currently only available for Division I baseball and softball.

The Data Visualizations tool within the Interactive Stats is a great way to quickly view important team (or individual player) situational metrics. Now, in the Data Visualizations (with the Synergy Integration), you can view the corresponding video in the Bunt Matrix and Power Matrix.
Player vs. Player Match-Ups with Synergy
In the Player vs. Player module in Interactive Stats, you are able to view match-up data between your players and opponents. Now, with Synergy video integration, you can watch those match-ups, including video of the full at-bat. This integration gives you and your team unprecedented ability to prepare for opponents at the collegiate level.
All-Sprays with Synergy
Our Synergy video integration allows you to interact with your 6-4-3 Spray Charts like never before. Just hover & click any area of a Spray Chart in the Interactive Stats tile’s All Sprays module, and you’ll get access to all available Synergy video mapped to that area of the chart. Easily see what kind of pitches opponent hitters are blasting to certain parts of the park, and vice versa!
Win Probability + Synergy
The Win Probability module is cool enough on its own. But now, with the available Synergy Integration, you can see the corresponding Synergy video from all the big plays/moments on your Win Probability graph!
Synergy + Trackman + 6-4-3 Charts
You’re going to be able to do some really cool stuff when you combine the best video platform, with the best ball tracking platform, with the best data visualization platform.
With Synergy and Trackman Integrations, users can visualize all their ball tracking data (from Trackman) AND watch the video (from Synergy) that corresponds with that data, all in one place (6-4-3 Charts).

Trackman SYNC
Trackman Data Visualization
With Trackman, your program has all the data you could ever need. The next challenge, though, is what to do with that data. 6-4-3 Charts’ Trackman Sync interface (available with the Trackman Integration) solves that challenge by drastically changing the way your program can visualize, interact with, and gain insight from your Trackman data. This is a one-of-a-kind tool that sits within our current 6-4-3 Charts interface and offers you an unprecedented level of interaction.
Learn more about all the different modules that make up our Trackman Sync interface. See how easily you can start creating detailed scouting reports on opponents and using the data from those reports to make carefully calculated in-game decisions on the field!
What Can You Do When You Visualize Your Trackman Data?
All Trackman Visualization tools outlined below are available as part of our Trackman Integration, available as an add-on with the 643 suite. They are not sold separately.
Pitch Highlighter
When first interacting with our Trackman SYNC interface, the Pitch Highlighter tool is a great place to start. The three interactive displays show the pitch location, the ball in play (and the result of those BIP), and the quality contact by the hitter.
The displays can be interacted with and filtered to better understand which pitches are working and which are getting barrelled.
Don’t forget about the cold, hard stats!
The Pitch Description table helps users explore each pitch type. Here you’ll find data on everything from Spin Rate to Induced Vertical Break.
The middle table shows the Batted Ball Profile, which breaks down the data on balls in play by pitch type.
The bottom Plate Discipline table details how disciplined hitters are against different pitch types. It’s particularly interesting to look at the different Whiff and Put-Away Percentages to see if the pitcher gets their outs via the heat or the breaking ball!
And, with the Synergy Integration...
Programs that also have our Synergy Integration, can pair Trackman data visualization with Synergy video inside the Pitch Highlighter tool. PLUS, you can use our interactive filters to select only the pitches, locations, and situations you want to see!
Pitcher Arsenal
The Pitcher Arsenal module gives users the most in-depth look possible at (an opposing) pitcher’s full repertoire. Pitch-type by pitch-type, visualize each of the pitches by vertical drop, release point, and spin. Pair these data points with our other advanced analytics, and there will be no guessing at the plate for hitters!
Programs that also have our Synergy Integration, can pair TrackMan data visualization with Synergy video and view associated video inside the Pitch Arsenal tool. PLUS, users can use our interactive filters to select only the pitches, locations, and situations they want to see!
Zone Illustration
The Zone Illustration module is a powerful tool for evaluating a hitter’s strengths and weaknesses around the zone. A quick scroll through the first nine illustrations and you’ll get a clear picture of where in the zone a hitter tends to swing, make contact, miss, get on base, and make elevated contact. Overall, the Zone Illustrator is a great tool to help develop a quick plan for your pitchers on how to attack your opponent’s lineup.

All Sprays
The All Sprays module is a great tool to use if you are in charge of defensive positioning for your team or you are trying to uncover tendencies in your own hitters.
Want to see all of a batter’s two-strike hits to leftfield? You can do that in the All Sprays module!
Check out the screenshots below to see all the sprays you have access to in this module.
And, with the Synergy Integration...
Game Replay
The Game Replay tool is ideal for programs with our Synergy Integration, but it can also be a great post-game tool on its own. Game Replay has a Pitch Summary table and two options for quick, post-game Hitter Reports.
Also, you can use the Custom Reporting tool to bring multiple data sources into one report.
And, with the Synergy Integration...
Programs that also have our Synergy Integration, can use the Game Replay tool in Trackman SYNC to watch the entire game, isolate on a single pitcher’s outing, or just look back at a single at-bat.
Field Render - 3D
Sometimes when evaluating a pitcher, the video doesn’t tell the whole story, and the data isn’t visual enough. That’s when the Game Replay – 3D module comes into play. With 3D Rendering, you can get a 360º view of all the pitches from any at-bat from the season. See how a pitcher tunnels pitches, the hitter’s reaction point, the ball’s spin access & movement, and much more.
You can view the pitches from any angle, but our favorite is viewing them from the LHH or RHH batter’s boxes!
Pitch Sequencing
What type of pitch is the opposing pitcher going to throw in a 1-2 count against your left-handed hitters?
The Pitch Sequencing module allows you to answer these questions by taking a deep dive into the tendencies of any pitcher by count, result, and pitch type. Then, with the LHH vs RHH filtering option, you can create a game plan for all the hitters in your lineup, no matter what pitcher you are facing that day.
And don’t forget about the tabular data! The tables included in this module (shown below) hold a TON of information about a pitcher’s tendencies and sequencing…
Pitch Selection: On this table, you can quickly see and sort what pitches are thrown in certain count scenarios. An easy nugget to pull from this table is if the pitcher has a certain pitch they like to throw on the first pitch of the count.
Sequencing Performance (On 2nd Pitch): Here, you can actually see what sequencing combinations work best (or worst) for the pitcher. It’s also a good place to look to quickly see what pitches hitters should be expecting after certain pitches.
Pitch Type By Count Matrix: Last but not least, this sortable table quickly shows you the percentage of each pitch type thrown on a given count. Looking at the example below, you can bet on a fastball if you’re in a 3-1 count with this pitcher!
Heatmaps
Our Heatmaps tool is an indispensable tool for scouting opponents’ pitchers (and hitters). With a couple of filter options in place, you’ll be able to quickly identify where a pitcher can execute their pitches and where hitters do damage on them.
Pair the insights you gained from the Heatmaps with those from the Zone Illustration module, and you’ll have an extremely detailed zone report on a pitcher – or hitter!

Catcher Defense
The Catcher Defense tool gives coaches a quick look at the receiving strengths and weaknesses of their (or their opponent’s) catchers as they work to help their pitchers win borderline pitches from umpires. The interactive tile allows users to filter on batter or pitcher handedness, pitch types, and date ranges to view more holistic trends and specific zone-by-zone metrics.
The Catcher Defense tool includes a K-Zone Framing chart along with a detailed statistical table. The statistical table is broken down by each of the “shadow zones” around the strike zone and then: Number of Pitches, Strike Rate, Framing Runs, Lg Avg Framing Runs, and Framing+.
Framing+ is a new metric for collegiate baseball/softball developed by 6-4-3 Sports that scales the catcher’s framing ability against the league average.
And, with the Synergy Integration...
Umpire Reports
The Umpire Reports module gives coaches a look at an umpire’s strike zone and, more specifically, how he/she calls pitches in the “shadow zones.” The tabulations for each shadow zone include: number of pitches, strike rate, strike-called accuracy, ball-called accuracy, and weighted accuracy.
Team Stats
The Team Stats tool organizes Trackman’s data into neat, sortable, and filterable stat tables. You can also export the table(s) to a PDF, CSV, or XLS file!
The Team ‘Pitching’ Stats table allows you view the table in four different statistical groups:
- Standard
- Batted Balls
- Plate Discipline
- Pitch Description
You are also able to filter the table by Pitch Type:
- Fastballs
- Breaking
- Offspeed
- Fastball
- Slider
- Cutter
- Sinker
- Curveball
- Changeup
In addition to the Pitch Type filters available on the side of the stat table. Above the stat table, you have additional filter options:
- Date Range
- Handedness (Faced)
- Count
- Pitch Velocity
- Spin Rate
- Log Type (Tagged or Auto)
Defensive Shift Model
The 643 DEFENSIVE SHIFT MODEL allows users to see a hitter’s expected batting average (xBA), slugging percentage (xSLG), and weighted on base average on contact (xwOBAcon) versus multiple defensive configurations. In addition to preset alignments, users also can manually move infielders and outfielders while the system dynamically recomputes the expected outcomes. This functionality allows users to assess which configurations most meet their defensive objectives.
Models
Pitching Models
Stuff+
- Quantifying the “nastiness” of each pitch using only its physical characteristics. 100 represents the league average for each pitch type, and thus a league average Fastball (100) is not expected to perform as well as a league average Slider (100).
Command+
- Quantifying command by normalizing each pitcher’s stuff attributes and measuring how the pitch’s location affects its performance relative to all other pitch types.
xRV+
- Modeling overall pitch quality by combining factors of stuff, command and deception (pitching tunneling, movement unexpectedness based on release traits, count-dependent pitch usage variation, release anomaly score, etc.). Each pitch is relative to all other pitches across pitch types.
Hitting Models
Swing Decision
- Credits hitters for the value of their swing decisions independent of results.
- The model is built on factors including game context (the count, hitter/pitcher handedness, etc.), stuff metrics (pitch velocity, movement, approach angles, etc.), and most importantly, pitch location.
Bat Speed
- An estimation of the average speed of the barrel of the bat at the point of contact.
Leaderboards
Trackman SYNC National Leaderboards are derived from all available Trackman data. They help you get a quick, in-depth look at who is good (and bad) in very specific statistical categories—both on an individual and team level.
Why should you look at our Trackman SYNC leaderboards instead of publicly available leaderboards? The short answer: We take Split Types seriously!
Pitching
- LHH or RHH
- In-Conference or Vs. Power 5
- Pitch Location
- Count
- Pitch Type
Hitting
- LHH or RHH
- In-Conference or Vs. Power 5
- Pitch Location
- 2Ks
- BIP Location
- Pitch Type
You can also set pitch or AB minimums to the Trackman SYNC Leaderboards.
Reporting
The Reporting module in Trackman Sync gives you ready-to-use, exportable PDF reports at the click of a button. Choose from our pre-made options, or work with us to create custom reports specifically for your program!
For more detailed reporting options, we encourage users to use the Custom Reporting and Tabling tool to create custom, team-level cross-data reports and tables!
Filters
Filters are available with a majority of our Trackman SYNC tools. The filters are designed to help you narrow down the data so you can see exactly what you want to see. Basically, if there’s a scenario in a game, you can filter down the data to it.
Plus, you can save your filters for easy access the next time around!
The Game Information filter allows you to narrow down the type of game (home/away, date range, and live/intrasquad). Then you can focus on the data by the general segments of the game, including inning and number of outs.
The Outcome and Pitch Information filters are where you can start getting extremely granular with your filtering. Filter by the outcome, zone, BIP type, pitch type, and count to see how your selected player performs in specific situations.
The Pitch Specifics filters let you dive even deeper into the ball-tracking data by letting you select the range of pitch velocity, spin rate, exit velocity, and launch angle. With this information, you can easily see where in the zone a pitcher is throwing their heat and where in the zone they are giving up big hits!
