AWRE + 6-4-3 Charts: Do More With Your Video

AWRE is an emerging baseball and softball multi-angle video platform that transforms player development, streaming, and instant replay.

And now, with the 643 AWRE integration, users can visualize AWRE data and interact with AWRE video in the 6-4-3 Charts interface. AWRE video is connected through the tools in the 643 AWRE tile (see below), and with those tools, video and data come to life to form actionable insights for coaches and players.

We can also automatically connect AWRE clips with all your uploaded Trackman SYNC data (available with a Trackman integration). With this option, you can interact with AWRE and Trackman data (in tandem, side by side, etc.) like never before.

All AWRE visualization tools are available as part of our AWRE Integration, available to add on with the PLUS package.

The 643 AWRE Tile

The 643 AWRE tile is now available in the 6-4-3 Charts interface for PLUS users with the AWRE Integration. The 643 AWRE tile allows you to access tools to watch all your videos efficiently and visualize associated data without leaving the 6-4-3 platform. (And much more!)

Playlist Manager

The 643 AWRE Playlist Manager is where you can organize your videos into different categories. You can quickly populate your playlists while watching videos using the different 643 AWRE tools (or in Trackman SYNC). Once you have your playlists, you can sync them to your team’s Player Portal so all your athletes can access the playlists of AWRE videos they need to watch!

Pitch Highlighter

The Pitch Highlighter module is a great place to start when first interacting within the 643 AWRE tile. The two main interactive graphics show: the strike zone (left) and balls in play on the spray chart (right). All data points on the visuals can be box-selected or individually clicked to watch the corresponding AWRE video from all available angles.

Both of these visualizations can be filtered and interacted with to better understand what pitches are working for your pitcher or are getting barrelled by hitters. And if you want to dive even deeper, you can filter the matchup data by conference or specific opponents.

AWRE - Pitch Highlighter - Baseball K-Zone, Spray Chart, and Player Rankings

Don’t forget about the cold, hard stats! The Pitch Highlighter tables are a great place to evaluate a player’s performance and see how they compare to their peers. The following tables are each broken down by pitch type:

  • Performance Metrics Table: Shows basic counting and average statistics, including BA, SLG, wOBA, and BAPIP.
  • Batted Ball Profile Table: Breaks down the data on balls in play by pitch type. It shows where the batter is hitting the ball on the field (Pull, Middle, Oppo) and what kind of contact they are making (FB, LD, PU).
  • Plate Discipline Table: Details how where pitches are located and how disciplined hitters are against different pitch types. It’s particularly interesting to look at the different Whiff and Put-Away Percentages to see if the pitcher gets their outs via the heat or the breaking ball!

Three additional features to point out with these tables:

  1. You can export them to PDF or CSV or copy them to your clipboard.
  2. You can click on any cell and watch the corresponding AWRE video. (See video above)
  3. You can easily see player strengths and weaknesses by referencing the coloring for stats. The red indicates that the player is really good in that stat category. The darkest shades of red represent the highest percentiles. The blue indicates that the player is poorer than average in that stat category. The darkest shades of blue represent the lowest percentiles. Percentiles are calculated using league averages (D1 Baseball & D1 Softball).

Zone Illustrations

AWRE - Zone Illustrations - Baseball GIF

The Zone Illustration tool is powerful for evaluating strengths and weaknesses around the zone. A quick scroll through the zones will give you a clear picture of where in the zone a hitter tends to swing, make contact, miss, get on base, and make elevated contact. And conversely, where a pitcher locates pitches, misses bats, targets in counts, and misses the zone.

With the AWRE tile, you are just a click away from watching all the videos associated with a particular zone illustration or a zone within a zone!

Overall, Zone Illustrator is useful for helping you develop a quick plan for your pitchers and hitters to attack the zone.

All Sprays

All Sprays is a great tool for uncovering tendencies in your hitters. And because you are in the 643 AWRE tile, all the spray charts have corresponding, multi-angled AWRE videos attached.

Want to see all of a batter’s two-strike hits to left field from the behind-home view? Just quickly add a few filters and you can do that in All Sprays! All the spray charts (like the ones you see below) will dynamically adjust for whatever filters you put in place.

Pitch Sequencing

AWRE - Pitch Sequencing

What type of pitch is your pitcher throwing in a 0-1 count against right-handed hitters?

The Pitch Sequencing tool allows you to answer this type of question by taking a deep dive into the tendencies of any pitcher by count, result, and pitch type. Then, with the LHH vs RHH filtering option, you can create a game plan for your pitcher so they are not too predictable on the mound.

Associated AWRE video coming soon to the Pitch Sequencing tool!

The Pitch Sequencing tool comes with four associated, exportable tables:

  • At/Thru Count Averages: Breaks down the number of PA, BA, OBP, SLG, BABIP, and wOBA for each count (At and Thru).
  • Pitch Selection: Shows the percentage of time each pitch type (Fastball, Breaking, Offspeed) is thrown in different scenarios (Even, After Strike, First Pitch, etc.)
  • Sequencing Performance (on 2nd Pitch): Breaks down the pitcher’s use of pitch combinations (Fastball/Fastball, Slider/Fastball, etc.) and the effectiveness of the sequence.
  • Pitch Type by Count Matrix: Shows how often each specific pitch type is used in each specific count.

Heatmaps

The Heatmap tool is indispensable for self-scouting your pitchers and hitters. With 6-4-3 Charts, you can set up a couple of filter options, and you’ll quickly identify where your pitchers can execute their pitches and where your hitters do damage.

Pair the insights you gained from the Heatmaps with those from the Zone Illustration module, and you’ll have an extremely detailed zone report on any pitcher (or hitter)!

Plus, as you could have guessed, you can view all mapped AWRE videos from the Heatmap. Just box-select the area of the zone you want to view and watch all the associated AWRE videos!

Filters

Filters are available in all sections of the 643 AWRE tab. The filters are designed to help you narrow down the data so you can see exactly what you want to see. Basically, if there’s a scenario in a game, you can filter down the data to it.

Plus, you can save your filters for easy access the next time around!

AWRE - Filters - Game Information

The Game Information filters allow you to first narrow down the date range you’d like to report on. Then, you can further filter the data by the general situations of the game, including base state, inning, number of outs, and handedness of the pitcher or batter.

AWRE - Filters - Outcome and Pitch Information

The Outcome and Pitch Information filters are where you can start getting extremely granular with your filtering. Filter by the outcome, zone, BIP type, pitch type, and count to see how your selected player performs in specific situations.

With the Matchup Information filter, you can limit your results to a certain opponent or player. This is perfect for quick game or series prep!

Watch From All Camera Angles

You can view all your camera angles anywhere there’s AWRE video available in the 6-4-3 Charts platform! Easily toggle between camera angles during plays and seamlessly pick up where the play left off when you make the switch.

AWRE + Trackman + 6-4-3 Charts

When you combine AWRE’s video-capturing abilities, Trackman’s ball-tracking abilities, and 6-4-4 Charts’ data visualization capabilities, our platform truly becomes a one-stop shop!

With AWRE and Trackman Integrations, users can visualize all their ball tracking data (from Trackman) and watch the corresponding video (from AWRE) in one place, using 6-4-3 Charts.

Learn more about your data visualization capabilities with our Trackman Data Visualization tools and the Trackman SYNC Integration.
