Data Management Internship – Spring 2023

6-4-3 Charts is currently accepting applications for their 2023 college baseball and softball season intern group. As partners with &, 643 manages the live scoreboards that appear on both sites, which serve as the premier reference point for fans across the nation. Interns will assist with the management and quality assurance of the D1 scoreboards during high volume game periods. Interns will work with a daily manager to monitor the automated game-tracking procedures and handle issues as they arise by interacting directly with the 643 and D1 APIs. This position is a great opportunity for those looking to start on or add to a career path in sports tech/analytics. Interns will work closely with the 643 and D1 staffs in a tremendous resume-building opportunity. Previous interns have been promoted to full-time roles within the company and have also been hired by MLB organizations.

If interested, data management interns will also have access to a wealth of 643 tools & data to conduct their own research with the most robust college baseball/softball database in the industry. As a bonus, this position also serves as a paid opportunity for people who closely follow college baseball and softball already.

Position Details:

  • Weekend availability required
  • 8-11 hours/week: One 7-10-hour shift of game coverage (Fri, Sat, or Sun) + 1 hour of data prep work weekly
  • Duration: 15 weeks
  • Pay: $15/hour
  • Training will take place in early-February

Candidates must:

  • Be reliable to cover assigned shifts from week-to-week
  • Have a personal computer and consistent internet access
  • Have a general knowledge of D1 baseball and/or softball and their teams
  • Communicate well and have a precise attention to detail • Possess strong technical and computer skills to troubleshoot issues *Prior experience working with APIs is preferred but not a requirement
