OLYMPIA, WASHINGTON (September 22, 2022) – 6-4-3 Charts (www.643charts.com), a leading baseball and softball data and video solutions technology platform, is pleased to announce a continued & extended partnership with D1Baseball (www.d1baseball.com) and D1Softball (www.d1softball.com), the nation’s leading source for Division l College Baseball and Softball news and media.
Within the existing partnership during the Spring 2022 collegiate season, 6-4-3 Charts worked closely with D1 to further automate their live scoreboard and in-season RPI (system used to rank teams based on wins & losses and strength of schedule). In addition to these services, 6-4-3 Charts also provided the D1 staff access to the 6-4-3 Charts’ platform for player research, evaluation, and content purposes. These aspects of the partnership will continue into the 2023 season, along with extended integrations.
“Just a year ago, we were thrilled to announce an initial partnership with 6-4-3 Charts,” said Kendall Rogers, D1Baseball and D1Softball co-owner and managing editor.
“Now, we’re taking this strategic partnership to another level, and in return, the most important people — the fans, coaches and players — will benefit more than ever before.” -Kendall Rogers, D1Baseball
The newly extended partnership includes enhanced statistical integrations between 6-4-3 Charts and D1. For the upcoming 2023 season, 6-4-3 will power all of the player & team statistics on both d1baseball.com and d1softball.com. D1 Baseball statistics will include all seasons since 2017, and D1 Softball statistics will encompass all seasons since 2018.
All of the statistics currently provided to and expected by D1 subscribers will remain the same, but the 6-4-3 integration will add advanced hitting and pitching statistics never before offered to D1 subscribers.
In addition to advanced metrics like BABIP, wOBA, Strikeout Rate, Walk Rate, and WHIP, D1 subscribers will also have access to split types like “Last 8 Games” for hitters and “Last 3 Appearances” for pitchers, offering a more customized user experience than ever before! Additional integrations will include access to 6-4-3 Charts specific content like win probability and park factor information.
Within the existing 6-4-3 Charts Web Application for NCAA Baseball & Softball clients, coaches can interact with the Win Probability Graphic. The Win Probability Graphic allows users to review how every event in the game impacted the outcome, following a timeline of the events.
At the bottom of the graphic, users can view the “Excitement Index.” On a scale from 0-100 the Excitement Index uses the rises and drops in win probability throughout the game to calculate how “exciting” the game was. The Win Probability module also allows coaches to view “Impact Plays” – plays that contributed to successes and missed opportunities over the course of their season.
The integration between 6-4-3 Charts and D1 will allow subscribing D1 fans access to tools like Win Probability, a service never before available to college baseball and softball fans on any platform. The integrations that 6-4-3 Charts brings will make d1baseball.com and d1softball.com the one-stop-shop for all statistics & tools that fans will ever need, and the newly-formatted integrations will be ready for the Spring 2023 collegiate baseball and softball seasons.
“We are thrilled to extend and expand our partnership with 6-4-3 Charts,” said Tara Henry, D1Softball managing editor, writer, and UCLA Softball alum.
“As softball continues to grow it’s incredibly important to have a partner in the space that provides the best data to analyze players, teams, and matchups.” – Tara Henry, D1Softball
6-4-3 Charts’ data integration with d1softball.com and d1baseball.com will give softball & baseball fans access to advanced metrics not found on any other public site. “I love diving into the data, charts and win probabilities with our crew at D1Softball and the team at 6-4-3 Charts,” noted Tara Henry. “I’m also excited about increasing the data available to softball fans across the world through this continued partnership.”
The team at 6-4-3 Charts is also excited to see where this partnership will go. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to grow our partnership with D1,” said Derek Weldon, 6-4-3 Charts CEO and Co-Founder. “Over the last five years, we’ve both grown immensely in our respective portions of the college baseball and softball community, and expanding our partnership will merge our strengths to offer college baseball and softball fans a comprehensive experience interacting with stats, analytics, and visualizations like never before.”
“We are already hard at work and cannot wait to roll out these exciting new features to the loyal D1Baseball and D1Softball subscribers.” -Derek Weldon, 6-4-3 Charts
With this extended partnership, 6-4-3 Charts will continue to work closely with the D1Baseball and D1Softball staffs to provide the most meaningful, accurate, and up-to-date statistics. “When it comes to partners, we always want to be associated with companies that love and want to grow college baseball and softball,” noted Kendall Rogers. “6-4-3 Charts had already emerged, but their trajectory continues to skyrocket, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue to be aligned with Derek, Rick, Luke and the rest of the team at 6-4-3 Charts.”
“We’re just getting started.”
